"I started training with Bryan Baker in 2009 and I met Laine in 2012. Laine was teaching spin classes at the gym I belonged to. I realized pretty quickly that Laine was special. Laine had knowledge about fitness that I had not met in a trainer before. We quickly became friends and I started taking all her fitness classes she was teaching. I followed her to a small studio, where she taught a barefoot training class. Wow!! I knew how to workout, but what Laine taught me was how to actually work the muscle groups, especially the “core”. I realized I had been doing these exercises incorrectly. No wonder I did not see the results I was looking for. Laine and Bryan opened their CrossFit gym in 2012. I continued to work out with them and shortly after that time, Laine opened up her small studio gym. Laine began coaching me on macros. This again made a huge difference in my results. I continued to workout with Laine until she moved to north Florida. Laine has a wealth of knowledge in the fitness industry. Laine is patient, encouraging and a strong believer of “you can do this”. Her direction and coaching has kept me in the best shape of my life, at the age of 65. I have watched Laine train a lot of different people and have seen amazing results from all she has trained, especially if they are willing to accept changes. I first heard about CrossFit, while on vacation, from my nephew, who was 35 years old. Hearing him talk about the workouts made me wish I was 30 years younger…I was 69! When I got back home I happened to pass a building that had a CrossFit sign on the front! Well, I pulled in, feeling foolish, and found Bryan, my future coach! I explained what workouts I was doing, aerobics mostly, but wanted to build more strength. He encouraged me to come to one of his classes and emphasized that age was not a factor! I went the next morning and never looked back. Bryan was so encouraging and modified the workouts to fit my fitness level. He watched all of us as we went through the workouts, making sure we all were using the right forms and getting the most out of the workout. He not only taught me how to flip a tire or push a sled, but showed me anything is possible at any age-my bone density tests improved over the 8 months! I will forever be thankful to Bryan for his friendship and care, in helping me find a new level of fitness!

Laine and Bryan, where do I start. My experience at Section 8 CrossFiit truly pushed me into becoming an athlete. Bryan was a coach that would push you and not let you quit. Everyday was a challenge, everyday was fun. I woke up every morning excited to get to the box to learn and grow. Above all I learned mental toughness and perseverance. Laine, was a training partner but a coach at heart. My favorite partner for a partner WOD and always there to encourage everyone along the way. Friendly competition at its finest and she truly pushed me to be better everyday. I couldn't recommend the two of them more if you want to get in shape, mind and body. Very special years of my life training with these two.

I am a career military member who has suffered numerous injuries throughout my career leading to multiple back surgeries (3), ongoing disc issues in my neck and spine, and overall tightness and pain for many years. My pain led to depression, anxiety and ultimately self-medicating on painkillers and alcohol. I was uneducated about pain and recovery and very angry at everything and everyone. About a year and a half ago I started to work on getting better…but I still needed someone to show me the right way. My wife Yeji told me about her friend Laine and her knowledge of recovery and fitness and wellbeing and hired her to take me on as a short term client.
What transpired over the next 16 sessions with Laine was life changing. I learned that I was shielding my body from pain and injury so much that I was actually making things worse. Laine’s ability to guide me through stretching, low impact strength training, core strength and just listening to my body is unparalleled. She is patient, nonjudgmental and a very kind and understanding person. I have gained confidence in my ability to be strong again, and to not let my pain get me down. I would recommend Laine and her husband Bryan for anything fitness, recovery or nutrition 1000 times over!
